About Us
After twenty years of advocacy for inclusive equity for all learners within general education classroom contexts, Just Universal Education was born in 2025. The not-for-profit organization was founded by Dr. Anne O. Davidson S. and Dr. Katrine Gosselin to advance years of advocacy for diverse, inclusive classrooms into real transformation of everyday teaching in US, public-school, general education contexts.
Drawing on their backgrounds in special education in Colorado, both focus on supporting the full-range of individual needs all students bring into their general education classroom learning community, ranging from mild learning needs to multiple, significant and complex medical needs that require significant support in the school context. Drs. Gosselin and Davidson also focus on connections between special education and culturally and linguistically diverse education recognizing the often confounding relationship among learning, language development, and disability related needs that present barriers to learning for students in educational settings.
Embrace the vision of just, universal education for all learners. Embody the inclusive equity students have the right to access.

Dr. Anne O. Davidson S.
Dr. D’s background in education started in special education, where she supported students with significant support needs in inclusive school and community contexts. After years of supporting the small population with the most learning needs, it was impossible to avoid recognizing the significant number of students with IEPs in addition to multilingual and/or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. In response to the disproportional over-representation of multicultural and/or multilingual learners eligible for special education, she pursued a PhD in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity, to understand how learning needs related to language development and learning disabilities differ, how to distinguish between the two, and how to support both types of learning needs appropriately.
An important first step toward equitable inclusion for all learners in public schools, a civil right in the US, is recognizing and responding to the needs of all learners in the classroom. To move toward more inclusive equity for learners with significant support needs, the general education teachers responsible for the best-first-teach, for every student must first develop the capacity to support a range of learning needs evident among students within each classroom as a community of learners.
